Distance Healing: A Case of Persistent Nasal Congestion
Many Months of a Stuffy Nose Cleared!
This case took place during the COVID-19 lockdown, when distance work became the only option for many clients seeking support with physical discomfort. The client had been experiencing prolonged nasal congestion for several months, rating the intensity as a 7 out of 10. By the fourth session, the intensity had reduced to 3, and by the fifth, she was breathing more freely and comfortably through the nose.
Working at a Distance
Although I had experienced distance sessions myself, this client had never received energy work before. The aim was not to provide an explanation but to offer a direct experience of how supportive remote work can be when in-person sessions are not possible.
During our first call, her breathing was heavy and strained. She could only breathe through her mouth, and her voice carried the familiar sound of deep congestion. The discomfort had been present for months, and she was exhausted by it.
The Sessions
Across six sessions, I used a combination of Quantum-Touch and other gentle energy techniques to support the body’s ability to settle, release tension, and move towards ease. We worked without expectation, allowing each session to unfold organically.
Throughout the process, the client remembered a series of emotional experiences that she felt had been difficult to process at the time. These included moments of overwhelm in childhood, a challenging incident in early adulthood, and a long period of suppressing emotion following the loss of a parent. She shared these memories at her own pace, and I remained focused on breathwork, sweeping, and stable energetic presence as she explored what surfaced for her.
My role was simply to maintain a steady field of support, respond to what she described, and reinforce calm regulation in the body.
The Outcome
By the end of the fifth session, her breathing had eased significantly, and the longstanding congestion had resolved. Three weeks later, she reported consistent, smooth breathing and a noticeable shift in how her body felt overall.
Reflections from Practice
This case reaffirmed something I have witnessed often: energy work can offer meaningful support, whether delivered in person or from a distance. It does not replace medical care, nor does it promise specific outcomes. But it can create the conditions for the body to find relief, soften long-held tension, and regain a sense of balance.
I remain grateful for every client who entrusts me with their well-being, especially in moments where privacy, distance, or circumstance require a different way of working.
